Message from the chairs

Over twenty years ago, the Art Gallery of Alberta held its first Art on the Block. Since then, it has become a signature event for us and the community, thanks to people like you. You are one of 600 lucky people attending this sought-out and sold-out fundraiser. We thank you for your support.

Every ticket purchased and every successful bid helps to keep the AGA’s exhibitions, education programming and community outreach as dynamic as can be – giving Edmontonians, Albertans and visitors from around the world unforgettable art experiences.

Every year, an extraordinary group of supporters: artists, galleries, donors, sponsors, patrons, businesses, volunteers and AGA staff make this event possible. Their time, talent, ideas and generosity are integral to making Art on the Block the success it is. Thank you to everyone who has given to this year’s event.

In support of everything the AGA does, please bid and bid often, so you can bring it home for the AGA. This is your chance to fill your life with art and art inspired items. There are over 100 items, including more than 70 works of art donated by recognized Canadian artists, exclusive art-inspired experiences and items donated by local artisans and businesses.

Enjoy the party, each other, and the drinks and the culinary creations from Zinc’s new Executive Chef Doreen Prei. We can’t wait to see you bring it home!

Bring it home to support the AGA

Your presence at Art on the Block supports the exhibitions you love, the programming that connects our community and helps us to provide educational opportunities for children across Alberta.

The AGA brings a wide variety of exhibitions to Edmonton, both historical and contemporary, from Canada and around the world. AGA exhibitions provide insight into the history of art and often challenge visitors to see and understand the world in new and engaging ways.

Each year, the AGA works with artists from across Alberta for exhibitions. Alberta artists are also an integral part of our Art Rental and Sales Gallery, which is another way that the AGA supports Alberta artists and helps to bring original works of art to your home.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is a charitable, non-profit organization, independent from the provincial government. As such, a large percentage of our funding comes from donations and support through events such as Art on the Block.

We can’t do it without you. The best way you can help? Bring it home!
